Faculty Advisor
Dept. Neuroscience & Psychology
mshah@temple.edu
I am an assistant professor of instruction in the Neuroscience program within the Department of Psychology. My passion has always been education and teaching, which is what led me to Temple University. When the idea of YEMSA was proposed to me, I knew immediately that it was an organization I wanted to be a part of. YEMSA aligned perfectly with my desire to promote education and perform community outreach. Through YEMSA, I have been able to form relationships with non-profits in the community that help youth in the Philadelphia area prepare for college. I have also been able to work with local high school students to talk about Neuroscience in fun and engaging ways. YEMSA is an asset to our own undergrads as well, providing an avenue to perform meaningful community outreach. I am excited to be the faculty advisor for YEMSA, and look forward to helping promote our mission of education and maternal support for years to come.
